KIWI’s Intensive Outpatient Program is designed specifically for adolescents and young adults struggling with substance use disorders.

INTENSIVE OUTPATIENT PROGRAM (IOP)
At Kiwi Recovery, our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) provides structured treatment for substance use disorders while allowing teens and young adults to maintain their daily responsibilities.
One step down from full-day treatment, our IOP is designed to support clients as they transition into more independent recovery.

testimonials
“My overall experience at Kiwi Recovery has been enjoyable, fun, helpful and a great learning experience."

“The staff are so supportive! If I had to think about what I would tell myself on my first day, it would be, it will be ok and that here, I will get the help I need."

“Great, comforting, supportive place, and cool staff! I wholeheartedly recommend it for its life-changing impact and unwavering support.”

"My son has been battling mental health issues and substance abuse for 2 years. He has been admitted in-patient several times and has attended outpatient programs throughout Massachusetts. Recently, he attended Kiwi's PHP over a four week time period.
His comments to me: "I finally felt listened to. Kiwi taught coping skills, just like the other programs I attended. But, they also helped me look at how I was feeling and what might be the causes for my feelings. No other program did this - no other program asked me 'why I felt this way'.
As a parent, being able to call Kiwi directly and get a placement for my son right away when he was in crisis, was a huge benefit. Couple that with my son's comments above, I feel that Kiwi is a place that offers real help for teens and young people struggling with mental health issues and substance abuse."

THE KIWI APPROACH TO TEEN SUBSTANCE USE
What sets Kiwi apart is our focus on adolescents and young adults. The clinicians and therapists who make up our team are here because we want to see teens reach their goals. If substance use disorder is getting in the way, our programs offer a pathway to lasting, sustainable recovery.
While key to all our treatment programs, the IOP allows clients to practice relapse prevention skills in real-life situations.
CBT helps our clients identify and challenge any negative thoughts or behavior patterns that can lead to substance use issues.
Group therapy helps our youth learn from their peers, share their stories, and build social skills in a compassionate and supportive environment.
The entire family unit benefits from sessions with a therapist who can help them explore personal issues and learn how to best support their loved one in recovery.

We offer therapy sessions for all of our programs via video sessions. However, on a long term basis, we recommend that teens participate in-person, as this helps them connect more deeply for a complete therapeutic experience.
